Established in the fall of 2009, daniel robinson productions has become the go-to place for cutting edge video production. Though daniel robinson productions specializes in music videos, dance films, and promotional advertisements, exploring new mediums of film is equally as exciting to DRP and its crew. DRP prides itself on its creative eye and finely tuned movement sensibility, a specialty that has made Daniel Robinson, found and creator, a much sought-after director, cinematographer and editor within New Yorks booming video-entertainment industry. Daniel Robinson hopes to bring to every project the highest level of creativity, quality, personalization, flexibility, and most importantly, inspiration, for inspiring art gives meaning to everything we create.
Alaskan born and raised in Oregon, Daniel made his Broadway debut in HAIRSPRAY, playing the role of Fender while understudying both Link Larkin & Corny Collins (2006-2009) under such celebrities as Ashley Parker Angel & Lance Bass. Prior to that, Daniel starred as Will Parker in the 1st National Tour of OKLAHOMA! With elaborate acrobatics and rope tricks (choreographed by the incomparable Susan Stroman), the role of Parker was a challenge that he loved and will never forget. Additional theatrical credits include the National Tour of Happy Days, in which he played the role of Potsie while understudying the Fonz, and the European Tour of Grease. In 2006, Daniel became involved with BROADWAY BARES, an annual burlesque show which raises for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Currently, when not on stage, Daniel can be found directing, filming, and editing a documentary of Bares' 20 years of amazing fundraising and humanitarian successes. The BROADWAY BARES DOCUMENTARY (commissioned by friend and mentor, Jerry Mitchell) will be Daniel's debut full-length documentary and is due out in 2011. In 2009, Daniel starred in the hit film BIG GAY MUSICAL, for which he received rave reviews. The film's sequel is set to begin production in the Fall of 2011 and Daniel looks forward to once again traveling to the film's many premieres and making new friends throughout the country. And, of course, to promoting gay, lesbian, and trans-gendered equality. Never one to rest on his laurels, Daniel also committed much of his time and energy in 2010 to developing his own film production company, DANIEL ROBINSON PRODUCTIONS--which specializes in both the conception and production of performance reels, music videos, promotional web videos, advertisements, websites, and dance films. Also in 2010 he founded the NSPIREproject, an edgy, modern dance company which merges dance and media. Daniel currently resides in NEW YORK CITY.
